What Customers Say About Koss PortaPro Headphones with Case:

These are the first pair of headphones that I've found to remain comfortable after wearing them for several hours. The first thing I noticed about the Portapro's was slightly better detail and bass response compared to the Sennheiser PX-100 headphones. I conducted listening tests on a new iMac using iTunes 9.0.3, a variety of music compressed with ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec), an Apogee One audio interface, a new set of PortaPro's, and a fully broken-in pair of Sennheiser PX-100's that are a few years old. The Koss PortaPro's have a limited lifetime warranty, and the Sennheiser PX-100's have a limited 2 year warranty. The Portapro's also sound great with the EQ set to flat, which is surprising for headphones in this price range. Despite the lack of padding on the headband (like the Sennheiser's have), the PortaPro's are more comfortable on the ears since they have temple pads to reduce some of the pressure. So far I'd have to say that the PortaPro's are better, but I have no idea how well they will hold up over time since I just recently bought them. A limited lifetime warranty (even if you're responsible for the shipping costs) shows that Koss has confidence in their product.

it comes with a lifetime warranty. this really helps keep the headphone on the ear even if you are actively moving and removes the pressure your ear may receive as with other headphones.

but this problem can be simply solved by placing a piece of tape over that area.the sound is amazing, everything is so clear and bass is strong. as far as potability, the portapro CAN be rolled up into a ball an placed into a pouch, but i dont even bother to do that.

although the portapro has been around forever, and many reviews have bashed its classic design, i've actually been recieving compliments for it.i think the design for the portapro is soo old that the younger generation think of it as something modern.hmm, as many people pointed out, the portapro will pull your hair out. it has cushions above the ear piece that clings onto your head.

instead, i just wear it on my neck all day. it is definitely stylish :)the portapro IS comfortable.

hmm, it does not have behind the head option, so a visible headband mark on your hair will appear.there is a comfort zone option, that i never use.overall, the portapro is a great product and definitely worth the price. it is definitely a must have for people who enjoy hi quality sounds and make the perfect gift

These are on my my favorite headphones. It has a retro look about it. The sound quality is great, especially for the price range. Much better than the default ipod headphones.

So I figured it was a pretty clear "can't lose" situation, and ordered them. And no matter how loud I cranked the volume, I couldn't detect ANY distortion. And they listed the retail of these at around $50.00. of their picks for the 5 BEST headphones for use with portable music players.

And most of the time while putting them away, they have a tendency to spring back open, which complicates extraction. The drivers these headphones use are also used by several of Koss' less expensive headphones as well. After asking around for suggestions from my Audiophile friends, and looking around on the web, I found a list on [.]. Oh, how right I was.First off, even though the delivery estimate was 6-10 days, I got them 3 days after placing my order. I can honestly say they are far & away the best sounding headphones I have ever had - and to get that kind of sound from a pair of $30.00 portables is astounding.

Trouble is, they still just BARELY fit in the leatherette bag provided to carry them in. Since that was about what my Sony's cost - I started looking around & found them on Amazon for just about $30.00. They were smaller than I expected, but I very anxiously brought them down to where my laptop was (since that is where they will be used the most,) started up my favorite Internet Radio Station ([.].) plugged them in & put them on. I can't vouch for the headphones construction though.

Recently the pads on my Sony Noise-Canceling headphones had become very badly worn, and since they weren't terribly comfortable WITH the pads, I decided it was time to get some replacements. My only complaints about the phones has to do with their folding form-factor. They are designed to fold in towards the headband with the ends clipping together to form a loop. But this is a small detail I can definitely live with. One other note, I thought I'd pass along. They sounded SO much better than my Sony's the difference was startling. Bottom line is, for the price I cannot imagine finding a BETTER pair of headphones than these. These were on there along with a lot of other headphones that costs LOTS more (Specifically the Bose QC2 & QC3).

If you're in the market I would definitely recommend these above anything else. All I can say is WOW. The bass response was HUGE & the fullness of the mid range & highs created an almost surround-sound environment. So it is very likely that you could find a $15-20 pair of Koss headphones at your local WalMart on a rack with all the low-end Sony, Skull Candy, & Memorex headphones, and STILL get the same sound quality that you can have with the PortaPros. You will NOT be disappointed

When I got them I was blown away. These headphones are fantastic. I bought them because I had only used earbuds prior and felt that listening to music on serious headphones would be a good idea. They are not the best headphones ever, but for 35 bucks the quality is sky high. The fold-up apparatus is nifty and useful, so I seriously recommend them to anyone in the market for great headphones.
